GET A TASTE OF SITTING VOLLEYBALL

8th March 2010

‘Sitting Volleyball is a fun and exciting sport which is great for anyone with or without a disability. I am really pleased to see it starting up in Nottingham and I hope it will give me the opportunity to develop as part of the GB programme.’ (Andrew Skinner, GB Player)

Nottingham University Sports Department and Volleyball Club have been working closely with Volleyball England and the East Midlands Volleyball Association, to run a number of sessions at the University.

Sitting Volleyball is another version of Volleyball which has been adapted to allow anyone to take part, including those with a disability. If you have big hands, good upper body strength, long arms or a leg amputation, then you have some of the characteristics to be the perfect sitting volleyball player.

It’s fun, it’s sociable and can also help to improve your cardiovascular fitness, core stability and co-ordination. Whether you’re looking to take up a new sport and play competitively or just enjoy yourself and get fit, then this could be the sport for you.

Their're all free sessions so if you’re interested, please come down and join us at the University Park Sports Centre, on:
